As newlyweds we are enjoying getting to know each other and, by the way, for those of you who do not know two folks in the same bed gets REALLY hot. You also seem to get lots of advice as my buddy Kyle can attest too one of my bosses keeps reminding me to enjoy the early years because it will all change when you get older. All change? Paul in 1 Cor. 7:1-7 seems to teach otherwise and for a great sermon on this topic check-out Mark Driscoll’s “Good Sex, Bad Sex.”
Not that I am going to write a book on marriage, but after two months I have a few reflections. It really is important to spend time with your wife in prayer and share your prayer requests with her; those also need to include sin (1 John 1:9). After taking three Systematic theology classes with Dr. Wellum its habit to use scripture at the end of sentences. A devotional time with your family is also very important because it is the parent’s role and not the churches to raise them up in the Lord (Eph 6:1-4). By no means am I an expert at either of these but by God’s grace hopefully these two sinners can make this marriage give Him the most glory.
