We spent our first Christmas as a married couple traveling across the country. It started out probably just like any other couple’s Christmas…Ryan put the tree together and made it pretty. There are pictures to follow don’t worry. We were very blessed to be able to spend time with both sides of our families in the great state of Tennessee…Go VOLS. The day after Christmas we drove to Louisville and then we flew to California…yep we were headed to Hollywood. The plane ride from Louisville to California was amazing. We had a connecting flight in Minneapolis which was covered with snow. While we were flying in I was reminded of God’s greatness. I looked out the window to see layers of clouds, mountains with fresh fallen snow and the sun rising over these mountains. The same God that created the mountains and the ocean created me. Who knew that a trip to California would be so humbling. While in California we went to Hollywood and saw one of the Beach Boys Brian Wilson and some other guy that Renee` Ryan’s sister said was famous but no one else really knew him. Ha-ha Renee`! We also went to two different beaches one of which was the famous Laguna Beach. And can I add that the shopping here is fantastic…if you have money. We are also going to visit the Rose Bowl Parade and I have pictures of that but they are coming soon. So I guess I could live here. It seems fun. But for now we will stay in Louisville. Happy New Year friends…I look forward to 2008. God blessed us greatly during this past year we are so thankful for all our friends and family and all his many blessings. I can’t wait to see what he has for us next.
Led Zeppelin Comeback? December 12, 2007
The greatest rock band ever played a reunion concert in London on Monday night. It was not in-till I was a freshman in high school, that I was introduced to Zeppelin. On a skiing trip in the Swiss Alps with my high school in Holland, Mr. Daniel Woodruff, can be credited with getting the Led out. Soon after I informed my uncle Danny about my new found love and he, don’t tell anyone, burned me the box set. Zeppelin’s Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones on the stage at the 02 arena Monday night as the headliners in a London concert billed as a tribute to the late Ahmet Ertegun, influential co-founder and head of Atlantic Records. On drums for the reconstituted Zeppelin was Jason Bonham, 41-year-old son of the band’s original drummer. He first played in concert with the surviving members during a brief set at Atlantic’s 40th anniversary celebration in 1988. It seems the only thing holding them back is Plant, who is reluctant to commit, to a world tour. I have always said if there was one band, not touring anymore, that I would love to see it is, Led Zeppelin.
Here is a video from the concert Monday night, man I love youtube, preforming “Stairway to Heaven”
